Do you know fuel injectors?

01 Nov 2022
The fuel injector is an important part of the diesel engine to achieve fuel injection. Its function is to atomize the fuel into fine oil droplets according to the characteristics of the diesel engine mixture, and inject them into specific parts of the combustion chamber.

The fuel injector has a huge effect on the turbocharger. It injects fuel into the cylinder and directly mixes it with the air in the cylinder to make the combustion more complete and make the turbocharger work efficiently, thereby increasing the output power of the engine and improving the dynamic performance of the engine.

Injectors are generally divided into hole injectors and pin injectors.

  1. Hole injectors are used in direct injection combustion chamber diesel engines. According to the number of nozzles in the nozzle head, it is divided into: single-hole injector, double-hole injector and multi-hole injector (more than 3), usually the number of nozzles is about 1 to 7.
  2. In the shaft needle injector, a shaft needle extends out of the hole under the sealing cone of the needle valve, which passes through the nozzle hole on the needle valve body and protrudes slightly outside the needle valve body. That is to say , the injection of the needle injector is hollow, and its shape can be inverted cone or cylindrical. Axial needle injector has the advantages of large diameter of injection hole, low injection pressure, not easy to be blocked by carbon deposits and good injection performance.

The fuel injector and the turbocharger are important links to ensure the normal and orderly operation of the engine. The cooperation between the two can reduce the fuel consumption of the engine and improve the output power of the engine.
